About Los Angeles Alumni Chapter, The Jewel of the West
Since 1938, the Brothers of the Los Angeles Alumni Chapter have been making vital contributions to the Los Angeles Community. We are proud to have introduced the "Kappa Presents," which recognizes outstanding high school young men to the Fraternity. Since its inception, the Presents program has expanded across Kappa and has "presented" thousands of young men to their communities. We are also home to Brothers of international reknown within the Fraternity and to the world at large. Past Polemarch Randall Bacon, Laurel Wreath Laureate Johnnie Cochran, Elder Watson Diggs Awardee Dr. Peter Butler and many Province officers and Grand Chapter committee chairs proudly called Los Angeles Alumni their home.
And what a home it is! The Kappa Kastle is widely considered the prize of the Los Angeles Greek Community. It can accommodate hundreds of guests and hosts many of our community service and social functions. The gardens and patio provide an oasis-like backdrop for the Annual JImmy Clarak Jazz Festival as well as our Pancake Breakfasts and Fish Fry. The Kastle is an intimate setting for music and mixing at our "First Friday" socials.
Chapter Meeting takes place the third Friday of every month. All Brothers are encouraged to join us for fellowship at 6:30 pm; meetings start at 7:30 pm.
